A few weeks ago I forgot to post this link to Erick Schonfeld’s post on Ray Ozzie’s strategy memo - Microsoft’s future is not in creating stand alone software anymore but will be in the direction of collaborative applications. Software is Dead, Long Live the Web. Which makes me wonder why so many software people I meet still don’t get the desktop / web convergence thing. Of course that’s the direction we’re moving and its great to see Ozzie pick up the baton, too.
Khoi Vinh has a rave about RSS Readers being similar to junk drawers. I agree, we do need this software to provide us with better tools than folders. Subscribing to RSS Theory. I might mention I’m like Khoi, my email inbox is it - no folders.
