Glen Stansberry on Smashing Magazine has written a nice article on the less is more principle of designing simple web interfaces that help your business bottom line. Take out the extra words, ask yourself if everything on the page needs to be there to achieve your design goals and site objectives. Don’t make users think!

Mythbusters vs RFID

Adam Savage at HOPE hackercon takes 2 minutes to explain what happened when Mythbusters thought about exploring the security of RFID technology - shut down demands from all the credit card companies.

Got to love a democracy. I recall going to a Dr Ken Sakamura lecture two years ago at the University of Tasmania, where he said we would not be on top of the security and privacy issues of RFID for at least 10 years. That’s 8 years to go, from the Tron guy himself. But I guess like everything it’s a case of big business wanting the feature before fixing the fine print.

A quick comparison of the Nikon D90 to the older D80 made me daydream, and several other reviews are worth a look (thanks also to Coudal Partners). Now how do I scrape the cash together in the short term?
