NO!SPEC is about not putting up with 20 designers submitting work and only the chosen one being paid for their effort. Spec work is free or done in the hope of being paid, quite often in competition environments nowdays. In short it craps up the industry for everyone - why pay for professionals when you can get it cheaply at someone else’s expense right? So if anyone asks you for spec work what do you say? Right tell them to “F*$K OFF”.

At the same time don’t take that to mean you can’t help and support not-for-profits and other causes you particularly believe in. Spec work and charity work are different.
